Generator Technician

Location: CA – Santa Clara, Bay Area, East Bay, San Diego

Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for applying mechanical, electrical theory and related knowledge to test troubleshoot and/or modify a variety of emergency generator equipment by performing the following duties.

  • Performing preventive maintenance and repair services on Emergency Standby Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, and related back up power products.
  • Prepares and submits report of findings with recommendations for corrective action.
  • Operating within the company’s safety standards and in accordance with OSHA and state regulations.
  • Diagnosing causes of mechanical, electrical or electronic malfunction or failure of emergency back up power equipment and recommends and performs corrective maintenance.
  • Interprets wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for the power system(s) or other related equipment in the performance of maintenance or troubleshooting.

Education and/or Experience:

Associates degree from college or technical school in Electrical/Electronic theory plus 4 to 6 years experience; or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
