Senior Field Service Engineer & Area Supervisor
Location: CA – San Pablo
Responsibilities:
Field Service Engineer role for the company’s Northern California region. Drive to customer sites on a daily basis, with occasional overnight stays. Perform preventive maintenance, remedial maintenance, and troubleshooting on emergency power products. Recommend proactive solutions to ensure optimal system performance and develop T&M recommendations. Assist in business/client expansion working with the Northern California Sales Team. Assist & contribute to maintenance and creation of Area scheduling. Maintain and encourage Area Safety practices among all UPS Service Technicians in your region. Assist in Training of Area UPS Technicians. Interface and maintain positive client relationships. Troubleshoot and respond to emergency calls for all equipment types. Must respond to the company’s customers in the Northern California region within 2 – 4 hours (by car).
Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in electrical engineering, or in a closely related field, plus 2 years of work experience in senior field service engineer or in a closely related occupation.
Special Requirements:
REQUIRED EXPERTISE/KNOWLEDGE OF:
1. Electronic/electrical component theory.
2. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Electrical Single Lines, general business procedures, professional documents, technical procedures, engineering blueprints, and governmental regulations.
3. Uninterruptible Power Supply maintenance, installation & repair experience on major brands such as Powerware, APC, MGE, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Liebert, Chloride & Reillo UPS.
4. Factory OEM Training certifications in all or a combination of the above.
5. UPS Communication Protocol, Chloride, Liebert, MGE & Powerware/Eaton.
6. Combined Generator & Fire Alarm Systems.
7. UPS, PDU, battery plant systems.
8.Factory certification on at least one of the following UPS system manufacturers: Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Power Wave, APC, MGE, Liebert.
9. Field service ERP system software
10. Battery testing equipment, including Fluke, Midtronics. MUST POSSESSEXPERTISE/ KNOWLEDGE SUFFICIENT TO ADEQUATELY PERFORM THEDUTIES OF THE JOB BEING OFFERED.EXPERTISE/ KNOWLEDGE MAY BEGAINED THROUGH EMPLOYMENTEXPERIENCE OR EDUCATION. Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for applying electrical theory and related knowledge to test troubleshoot and/or modify a variety of battery systems by performing the following duties: Performing preventive and remedial maintenance on Battery Systems including partial or full Battery System replacement.
Prepares report of findings with recommendations for corrective action.
Operating within the company’s safety standards and in accordance with OSHA and state regulations.
Diagnosing causes of electrical or electronic malfunction or failure of critical back up power equipment and recommends and performs corrective maintenance.
Education and/or Experience:
Associates degree from college or technical school in Electrical/Electronic Theory; or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Summary:
The Business Development Executive (BDE) is responsible for generating revenue for Odyssey Power Corporation by selling it’s solution based services agreements to customers and markets that align with our growth strategy, including but not limited to new business partners as well as existing business partners for the assigned territory. The role focuses on providing our customers with the best solution for each situation, as well as delivering “Level 10” Customer Service. In addition, the BDE works in conjunction with the assigned Customer Support Specialist for the region to ensure that all projects are managed to the customers expectations. The BDE is responsible primarily for prospecting, qualifying, and closing service agreement opportunities, but may also meet with existing customers, walk jobs on behalf of the Customer Support Specialist, and handle any customer service issues that come up in the field. More specifically, a BDE is accountable for selling for their assigned territory, gaining market share and profitability, and representing the organization’s best interest to ensure that all contracts are honored and objectives are realized.
Education and/or Experience:
- Generating revenue
- Prospecting for new opportunities
- Manages each opportunity for the duration of the sales process including gathering essential information to generate a proposal, negotiating, and closing sales.

Generator Field Service Technician

Job Summary:
The Generator Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on generators of all makes and models and a variety of sizes, as well as providing excellent customer service, and keeping accurate records. Generator Technicians will perform troubleshooting of commercial and industrial diesel/natural gas generators including automatic transfer switches, batteries, and load-bank testing.
Essential Duties: - Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on standby generator systems.
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic testing, load-bank testing and start-ups.
- Maintaining a vehicle inventory.
- Identifies causes of generator problems and/ or failures.
- Participate in “On-Call” rotation.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of generators both during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends, and holidays as directed.
- Effectively communicate with customers and internal team members.
- Additional duties as assigned.

UPS Field Service Engineer

Job Summary:
Responsible for providing professional technical services to customers including technical site analysis to resolve customer issues and to perform remedial maintenance & repair duties on various makes, models, and sizes of UPS Systems. Systems will include a complete range of single-phase, 3-phase UPS Systems, Switch Gear, Battery Plants, DC Plants, inverters, ATS and associated peripherals. Fundamental knowledge of electrical distribution systems, basic test and measurement equipment, fundamental knowledge of electrical code and IEEE requirements, and in-depth knowledge of electronic principals is required. A high level of customer service skills is required as well as the ability to travel regionally. On an “as needed” basis.
Essential Duties: - Perform Startup/Commissioning on UPS equipment across various product lines both single module and multi- module systems.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance on various makes and models of single module and multi-module systems.
- Perform Unscheduled Maintenance and repairs on various makes and models of UPS Systems equipment on single module and multi-module systems up to 1000 kVA.
- Perform basic Power Audits of customer’s distribution systems.
- Document all required information for each site visit performed on the UPS Systems and Battery Plants.
- Be prepared to always respond promptly and professionally to emergency calls including holidays and weekends.
- Work with the OEMs for UPS Systems Software upgrades and other OEM required repairs.
- Stay current in all aspects of revisions, updates, and new additions to UPS Systems of different makes and models.
- Maintain integrity of site information and provide updates to the UPS Supervisor & UPS Service Manager.
- Train other Field Service Engineers on product knowledge when required.
- Properly document, label, and return all defective parts utilized in the repair of UPS System equipment to the designated disposal/repair location.
